Heroes: The US Military - Honoring Those Who Served....
On June 7, 2002, the USPS issued a
stamp, depicting three NYC firemen raising the US flag amid the rubble
of the fallen World Trade Center, to honor the Heroes who
gave lost their lives, who helped save lives on 9/11, and who continue
to serve the cause of peace and bring about an end to terrorism. Shown
here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from one of the three cities of issue ( in this case New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) features an American soldier against the
backdrop of a waving American Flag. It's rendered in watercolors by
award-winning cachet artist Sue Allen and encompasses the entire
envelope. The words "Honoring Those Who Served - Military" are printed
below. This is a great way to honor a Hero who has served this
country, preserving our freedom.
Double matted in blue and white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
