Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Los Angeles, CA - host city of the ATA Convention on October 27, 1953) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a series of criss-crossing highways with various trucks, a large city in the background.
