commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the College of the Holy Cross located in Worcester, MA.
Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover,
in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the
city of issue (Worcester, MA) the first day of issue
captioned above.
The color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) depicts a drawing of
O'Kane Hall (1895) and its namesake -
the Rev. Michael A. O'Kane,
president of the college from 1889 to 1893. The artwork is printed on silk and bordered with a
'gold' band.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x
