Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Poultry Industry. It's an envelope with the new stamp cancelled on the first day (September 9, 1948) from the city of issue (New Haven, Ct.)

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a Light Brahma Hen, a descendant of the original hen introduced at the 1st Boston Poultry Show in 1849. Based on the age and good condition of this cover plus the charming cachet, this is a collectible, historic piece of postal memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
