On October 20, 1972, the USPS issued a stamp to honor Benjamin Franklin. This stamp depicts Franklin with his reading glasses on. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Philadelphia) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of two older stamps, which were added to the envelope along with the new one and then cancelled on the "birthday" of the new one, make this a Combo. The older stamps are a 3 cents stamp honoring Lafayette issued in 1952, and a 3 cents stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of Washington's inauguration issued in 1939.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Franklin and Franklin as a young man at the printing press. Historic, collectible, this is one of many items honoring famous Americans offered by Wall Art Collectibles.

Double matted in light blue & dark blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
