On August 9, 2001, the USPS issued a set of four stamps honoring Amish Quilts. Shown here is one of these four stamps on a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Nappanee, Indiana) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark of a round barn and quilt designs created for the cancellation of this set of stamps on their 'birthday.'
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows Amish men engaged in a Barnraising, symbolic of the community spirit of the Amish. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary on Barnraising, which we've included. Also included is a Certificate of Authenticity to let you know this is indeed a genuine 1st Day Cover.
Double matted in blue and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. At Wall Art Collectibles, we always mat to standard sizes, giving you the flexibility of selecting the frame of your choice.
