Lights!  Camera!  Action!   .....On February 25, 2003, the USPS issued a set of ten stamps celebrating American Filmmaking: Behind the Scenes, commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, the entire Souvenir Sheet with all ten stamps on an oversized envelope cancelled from the city of issue (Beverly Hills, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.  The ten stamps honor the men and women whose combined efforts bring entertainment to millions of moviegoers around the world and are as follows:  Art DirectionCinematography, Film Editing, Special Effects, Sound, Screenwriting, Direction, Costume Design, Music, and Makeup.  "Producing" is represented by a photograph in the selbage area of the stamp pane. (See the individual descriptions for the various first day covers in our Movie-Movie Star category for more details.)

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts five of these elements that make up filmmaking. We've included a copy of the back of the envelope that has a brief commentary about this set of stamps, as well as the 'informative blurb' printed on the back of each stamp.  From the art direction of Perry Ferguson in Citizen Kane, to the costumes of Edith Head, to pioneering make-up artist Jack Pierce who gave Boris Karoff his frightening visage of Frankenstein's monster, to the special effects of E.T. ......this beautiful First Day Cover will delight the movie buff in you!

Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 11x14 frame.  You won't find this collectible, historic piece of postal stamp art anywhere else but at Wall Art Collectibles.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
