On August 26, 1999, the USPS issued a set of five stamps celebrating five different historic passenger trains. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp commemorating the 20th Century Limited cancelled from the city of issue (Cleveland, Ohio) on the first day of issue captioned above. Called "The Most Famous Train in the World" this New York Central train whisked passengers between Chicago and New York City in just 15 1/2 hours.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features this sleek, Art Deco engine, a testament to modern engineering. Great art, unaddressed, this cover is a collectible, historic piece of railroad and postal memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
